Sophie established her original firm in 2008 and merged with Marwood to roll out Marwood Surveyors in 2013, and brought to the business her extensive network of contacts. Sophie’s specialism is residential valuation and her personable approach and passion for her work has built Sophie an exemplary reputation within the property industry.

As an experienced property professional with over 33 years’ experience in Residential & Commercial property, Gary continues to develop and execute the company’s business strategy. Gary is actively involved in a number of other complementary businesses, and has a passion for football.

Andrew is a highly experienced Building Surveyor with over 30 years experience working within the construction, commercial and residential building sector. His specialisms include Land Registry Compliance Plans, Party Wall Surveying, Boundary Determination, Building Surveys, and Conditions Reports. Andrew is a committed and conscientious surveyor believing in providing a highly professional working manner with our clients.

Hannah Gilchrist
Operations Manager
Hannah serves as the backbone of our office operations, bringing a high level of professionalism and dedication to every aspect of her role. With a strong commitment to customer service and organisational excellence, she ensures that our office runs smoothly and efficiently. Hannah’s proactive approach to resolving issues and fostering a positive work environment makes her indispensable. In addition to her operational duties, Hannah is responsible for maintaining the company’s office accounts, ensuring accuracy and financial transparency across all office-related expenses. Hannah holds an ILM Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management, demonstrating her expertise in team leadership, strategic planning, and operational management. With a focus on continuous improvement and a passion for helping both staff and clients, she plays a vital role in our company’s success.

Tanya Stevens-Cates MRICS
RICS Chartered Surveyor & Registered Valuer
Tanya started her career as a Cadet Valuer with the Valuation Office Agency and after qualifying with The Royal Institute of Surveyors now has over 20 years of experience in the National and Local Taxation Sector. Providing valuation and practical advice on all aspects of Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax, including tax reliefs for example Agricultural Relief and Private Residence Relief. She also has expertise providing advice, valuation and support through the entire “check, challenge appeal process” in Rateable Valuations including negotiation with The Valuation Office Agency and attending as an expert witness at valuation tribunals. Tanya is also a registered valuer and very experienced in RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Surveys, New Build Snagging Reports, Asset Valuations, Commercial Valuations and Building Condition Surveys.

Richard is a RICS registered residential and valuation surveyor having graduated with a diploma in residential surveying through the industry recognised Sava course. He has over 20 years’ experience in the social and private housing sectors bringing a broad range of skills and expertise gained from working and surveying in Commercial, Residential and Estate Management. Richard is a genuine and passionate professional who is committed to providing an exceptional service for our clients.

Natalie Byrne
Senior Property Manager
Natalie’s experience in property management began in 2010 when she worked as an administrative assistant. Natalie worked as a letting’s assistant for a year, then swiftly moved on to an assistant property manager role in block management, and got promoted to property manager in less than six months. Natalie worked at Remus for eight enjoyable years, during which she developed significant property management skills. After changing jobs and travelling to London switching to asset management, Natalie eventually went back to her love of block management. Natalie is a devoted mother of two who loves to socialise with friends and treasures the time she spends with her family, finding happiness in the little things they do together.

Jessica Vale
Trainee Property Manager
Jessica joined Marwood Surveyors in July 2021 as an apprentice completing her Level 3 Administration course after 18 months of dedicated effort. Post-apprenticeship, Jessica collaborated closely with Hannah, our operations manager, handling daily administrative tasks for the surveying department. In March 2024, Jessica began her new role within the block management division as an assistant property manager and since then, has been managing residential block properties, addressing daily enquiries, handling administration, coordinating with contractors, and more, enhancing her expertise and contributing to the efficient operation of the department. As of August 2025, Jessica been promoted to Trainee Property Manager. Since joining Marwood Surveyors, Jess has become a valued member of the team, known for her professionalism, attention to detail, and positive attitude. We’re excited to support her as she takes this next step in her career and continues to grow within the business.

Abby Davis
Accounts Payable Manager
Abby joined Marwood Surveyors in September 2023 and has 5 years’ experience in credit control/sales ledger/purchase ledger and 8 years office administration. Abby completed her level 2 NVQ business administration apprenticeship in 2014 within credit control in the service charge property sector, and has her AAT Level 1&2 Certificate in accounting, and is hoping to work towards AAT level 3 diploma and onwards to gain MAAT status. Abby’s everyday role within Marwood Surveyors is managing the overall service charge accounts (credit control/accounts receivable/accounts payable) and financial management of client assets.

Oliver Adams-Moor
Sales and Surveying Administrator
As of July 2025, Oliver has successfully completed his apprenticeship and now holds the position of Sales and Surveying Administrator. He plays an integral role in the team, overseeing daily administrative duties and serving as the first point of contact for our clients. Oliver provides valuable support to our Operations Manager, Hannah, and contributes significantly to our commercial agency work. His dedication and leadership in managing our administrative processes are essential to delivering the high level of customer service we’re so proud to offer.

Rajak Ali
Commercial and Residential Property Services Administrator
Rajak is a dedicated property professional with experience across both residential lettings and property management. Since entering the industry in 2021, he has developed a well-rounded understanding of the property sector, having initially worked as a Lettings Negotiator before progressing into a Property Manager role. These positions provided him with hands-on experience in tenant relations, tenancy progression, maintenance coordination, and compliance management.
Rajak currently holds the position of Residential and Commercial Property Administrator at Marwood Surveyors. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing a broad range of administrative functions that support the day-to-day operations of the business. He also serves as the first point of contact for clients, ensuring that all enquiries are handled with professionalism, efficiency, and a high standard of client care. His attention to detail, organisational skills, and commitment to delivering a seamless client experience make him a valued member of the Marwood Surveyors team.

For over 10 years, Marilena has had the privilege of working with both independent and corporate agents, building a career centred on her love for property and passion for delivering exceptional customer service. For the past seven years, Marilena has worked as a Lettings Manager, leading teams, supporting landlords, and guiding tenants through every step of the rental journey. Marilena is also a proud member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA), committed to upholding the highest professional standards in the industry.
As a local, Marilena believes in constantly learning and growing—not just as a professional, but as a person. Every client, every property, and every challenge is an opportunity to improve and connect. Outside of work, you’ll most likely find Marilena wandering the beautiful trails of Sutton Park with her two dogs, iced coffee in hand, enjoying friendly conversations with the locals.
